Description

This Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a crowd-pleaser with its delicious layers of pretzel, cream cheese, and fresh strawberries. Its easy preparation makes it ideal for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups small salted pretzels (crushed)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup salted butter (melted)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 6 oz strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and gather all ingredients.
  2. Pulse pretzels and brown sugar in a food processor until combined but still chunky.
  3. Add melted butter to the pretzel mixture and pulse until evenly moistened.
  4. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a parchment-lined 8×8 baking dish, and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour heavy cream into the cream cheese mixture and beat until fully combined. Spread this over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Dissolve strawberry gelatin powder in boiling water; refrigerate for about 30 minutes until thickened.
  8. Fold in sliced strawberries into the thickened gelatin and pour evenly over the cream cheese layer. Chill for 2 to 4 hours until set.
  9. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
For a quicker set, place the gelatin mixture in the refrigerator but keep an eye on its consistency.
Feel free to substitute other fruit in place of strawberries!
