Description

These Raspberry Nutella Heart Pies are a delightful blend of creamy Nutella and fresh strawberries wrapped in a flaky, golden crust. Ideal for a sweet treat or a special occasion, they are simple to prepare and impressively delicious, making them a perfect choice for homemade desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package pre-made pie crusts (or make your own pie crust)
  • nutella
  • 1 cup diced strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 12 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Prepare the strawberry filling by washing, de-stemming, and dicing strawberries. Combine with sugar and cornstarch; set aside to macerate.
  • Roll out the first pie crust on a clean surface. Cut heart shapes and place them on a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet, leaving space between each.
  • Spoon 1-2 teaspoons of Nutella into the center of each heart. Microwaving the Nutella slightly can make spreading easier.
  • Add a spoonful of strawberry filling to each heart. Don’t forget to taste!
  • Roll out the second pie crust, cut out heart shapes, and place them on top of each filled pie. Seal edges with a fork.
  • Poke small holes in the tops for venting while baking.
  • Whisk together the egg and water until well combined. Brush this mixture over the tops of each pie.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes until they are deep golden brown.

Notes

Microwave Nutella for a few seconds to soften for easy spreading.
You can use homemade pie crust if preferred for a fresher taste.
Feel free to get creative with the shapes or the filling!
