Description

This Peach Crisp is a delicious dessert featuring ripe peaches and a crunchy oat topping. It’s easy to make and perfect for gatherings or family dinners. Serve warm with ice cream for a comforting treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds ripe peaches peeled, pitted and cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar packed
  • ¾ cup white all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ stick salted butter cut into very small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with sugar until fully coated and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Incorporate the diced butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender or fork until coarse crumbs form.
  6. Add vanilla, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt to the peaches and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Pour the peach mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  8. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the peaches.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and juices are bubbling around the edges.
  10. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  11. Optionally, serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint.

Notes

For extra flavor, use different spices like ginger or cloves in the crumb topping.
Ensure peaches are ripe for maximum sweetness and juiciness.
Letting the crisp rest allows flavors to meld and makes serving easier.
