Description

This Parmesan Crusted Chicken boasts irresistible flavors and a simple preparation. Coated in cheese and breadcrumbs, it’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, ideal for both family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in half lengthwise
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese divided
  • ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and divided
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Brush each chicken breast with this mixture.
  3. Cook the chicken breasts on the preheated grill pan for 3-4 minutes before flipping them over.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of Parmesan cheese and provolone cheese, then set it aside.
  5. Top the chicken with the cheese mixture, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet lined with foil.
  7. Preheat the oven’s broiler on high.
  8. In a separate bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with the remaining ¼ cup Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the chicken breasts.
  9. Broil the chicken for 1-2 minutes, watching closely until the breadcrumbs turn golden and crispy.
  10. Remove the chicken from the broiler and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in spices for a few hours before cooking.
Serve with a side of salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
This dish pairs well with a light white wine.
