This Homemade Pizza Sauce features a perfect blend of garlic and herbs, paired with crushed tomatoes for a rich, mouthwatering flavor. It’s simple to make and ideal for quick dinners or pizza nights at home.

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add grated garlic and cook for 2 minutes, stirring often until fragrant.
- Stir in dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes, and cook for 1 more minute.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and sugar, then reduce heat to low.
- Simmer the sauce for 20 minutes until it thickens.
- Finish by stirring in unsalted butter, and season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Cool to room temperature.
Notes
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Consider adding fresh basil for extra flavor.
