Description

Homemade Caramel Apples bring together the crispness of granny smith apples with a rich, gooey caramel coating. This easy recipe requires simple ingredients like butter, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk to create a mouthwatering treat perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 whole granny smith apples
  • 12 lollipop sticks
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup karo syrup
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate wafers, melted
  • 1/2 cup toppings, sprinkles or crushed candy bars

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples to remove wax by soaking in water mixed with white vinegar; dry thoroughly.
  2. Remove the stem from each apple and insert a lollipop stick about 3/4 of the way into the top.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the apples on top.

Notes

Consider using different types of apples for unique flavors.
Use various toppings to make each apple special and fun.
Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping into caramel to maintain coat adherence.
