Description

These Homemade Artisan Crackers are full of flavor and simple to prepare. Made with fresh herbs and paired with your favorite dips, they’re perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2/3 cup (160g/ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (41g/45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing on top
  • flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary.
  2. Pour in water and olive oil, stirring until dough forms a clump.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured work surface; knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Cut the dough in half, keeping one half covered while rolling the other.
  7. Roll one half out into a thin rectangle about 1/16th of an inch thick.
  8. Cut the rolled dough into small rectangles of 3 x 1.5 inches and transfer to baking sheets.
  9. Repeat the rolling and cutting process with the second half of the dough.
  10. Dock the crackers with a fork, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and optional seasonings.
  11. Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown, rotating the sheets halfway for even baking.
  12. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
To re-crisp, bake in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
Experiment with different herbs and spices for unique flavors.
