Description

These fudgy vegan brownies made with applesauce blend irresistible flavor with simplicity. They are a crowd-pleaser, perfect for any occasion as a quick dessert or satisfying treat.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup (118ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • ½ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces (113g) unsweetened applesauce (about ½ cup)
  • 2 ounces (57g) unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups (186g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (Vegan ones)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9” pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the vegetable oil and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir in the vanilla, cocoa powder, and applesauce until well mixed.
  3. Add the melted chocolate and salt, mixing until smooth. Gradually incorporate the flour, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
  5. For an elegant touch, sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.

Notes

Ensure the baking pan is well-lined to prevent sticking.
For a richer taste, use high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder.
