- ½ cup (118ml) vegetable oil
- 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- ½ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 ounces (113g) unsweetened applesauce (about ½ cup)
- 2 ounces (57g) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups (186g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (Vegan ones)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9” pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Combine the vegetable oil and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir in the vanilla, cocoa powder, and applesauce until well mixed.
- Add the melted chocolate and salt, mixing until smooth. Gradually incorporate the flour, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
- For an elegant touch, sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
