Description
This Easy Oreo Frosting is a delightful blend of cream cheese and butter, creating an irresistible taste. It’s perfect for topping cakes, cupcakes, or cookies and is super simple to prepare with just a few ingredients, including Oreos!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 3–4 tablespoons heavy cream
- 8 Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
Instructions
- Beat the softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla in a stand mixer or with a handheld mixer for 2-2½ minutes until smooth and fluffy.
- Reduce mixer speed to medium-low and add powdered sugar slowly, one 1½ cups at a time. After each addition, include 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. Adjust with additional powdered sugar if frosting is too soft.
- Mix until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the finely crushed Oreos. Ensure no large clumps remain, especially if piping the frosting.
- If not using immediately or if warm, refrigerate the frosting until ready. Before using, bring it to room temperature for 20–30 minutes and re-whip for 15–30 seconds until fluffy.
Notes
For best results, ensure Oreos are crushed finely to avoid clumps when piping.
Store any leftover frosting in the refrigerator; it can be re-whipped when ready to use.
Feel free to add more heavy cream if you desire a thinner frosting.
