Description

Crockpot Boiled Peanuts are a delightful treat featuring tender peanuts soaked in a salty brine. This recipe ensures an easy preparation with fantastic flavor, perfect for snacks or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
  • ¼ cup salt
  • water

Instructions

  1. Sort through the raw peanuts to remove any debris, then rinse them under cold water.
  2. Soak the peanuts in cold water for about 30 minutes, then drain them.
  3. Place the drained peanuts in the crockpot and add the salt, covering them with water, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  4. Set the crockpot to high and cook for approximately 7½ hours, or until the peanuts reach your desired softness.
  5. Halfway through the cooking, taste a peanut and add more salt if needed, stirring to combine.
  6. Make sure to monitor the water level, adding more as necessary to keep the peanuts submerged during cooking.
  7. Once cooked to your liking, drain the peanuts and serve warm, or store for later snacking.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can experiment with adding spices like cayenne or Old Bay seasoning.
Ensure the water level is maintained during cooking to prevent the peanuts from burning.
Leftover boiled peanuts can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
