Description

Creamy garlic chicken breasts offer an irresistible flavor with simple prep using just a few key ingredients. Perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions, this dish combines tender chicken with a rich sauce for a comforting meal everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 2 large breasts halved horizontally
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup (31 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 5 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) chicken broth
  • ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
  • ¼ cup (25 g) finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, optional, to brighten flavor
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess flour.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Cook until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese, and let the sauce thicken for a few minutes.
  6. Add the chicken back to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. If desired, add fresh lemon juice for brightness. Serve garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For additional flavor, marinate the chicken in the seasoning for a few hours before cooking.
Be cautious with the cooking time to avoid overcooking the chicken, keeping it tender and juicy.
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for a heartier dish.
