Description

These Classic Burgers pack irresistible flavor in every bite. With simple prepping and cooking using quality ground beef and a blend of spices, they’re perfect for any cookout and sure to impress. Serve with your favorite toppings for a nostalgic grilling experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • lettuce, tomato, red onion for serving
  • favorite condiments

Instructions

  1. Prepare the grill, aiming for a temperature of about 300°F using hickory or oak for smoke.
  2. Combine brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and dry mustard to create the steak rub.
  3. Mix the seasoning blend into the ground beef and form 8 patties, ensuring to include an indentation in the center of each.
  4. Place the patties over indirect heat and cook with the grill lid closed for 5 minutes before flipping.
  5. Continue cooking until the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 165°F.
  6. Remove the burgers from the grill and serve on buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, and your choice of condiments.

Notes

For added flavor, let the patties rest for a few minutes before grilling.
Using lean ground beef will keep the burgers from being too greasy without sacrificing flavor.
Feel free to customize your toppings to suit your taste preferences.
