Description

This Caramel Dip for Apples delivers an irresistible flavor with a delightful combination of butter, sugars, and sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for dipping fresh apple slices, it’s an easy, homemade dessert that everyone will enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup karo syrup
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottomed sauce pot, over medium heat, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, Karo syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and salt.
  2. Stir constantly with a flat bottomed wooden spoon or rubber spatula, scraping the bottom of the pan, until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts.
  3. Increase the heat to high and continue stirring until the caramel mixture reaches 225 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Once it reaches 225 degrees, remove it from the heat immediately to halt the cooking process.
  5. Allow the caramel to cool for at least 20 minutes before serving, then pour it into a serving dish and enjoy with sliced apples.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using unsalted butter.
Stir continuously to prevent the caramel from burning on the bottom.
Allow cooling time to avoid burns when serving.
