Description

Treat yourself to these Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, combining tender dough with a sweet apple filling and gooey caramel. These rolls are perfect for celebrating special moments or enjoying a comforting dessert at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water, lukewarm
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large apples, gala, honeycrisp, granny smith, or another tart and sweet variety
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted, or very soft
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup karo syrup
  • 1/2 15-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast; mix well and let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of flour, mixing on low for 2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Incorporate an additional 3½ cups of flour and mix on low. Add more flour if needed until the dough pulls away from the bowl. Knead on low for 3 more minutes.
  4. Once the dough has doubled, turn it out onto a floured surface and form a small rectangle. Roll the dough into a 24" x 12" rectangle, approximately 1/2" thick.

Notes

Feel free to use your favorite apple varieties for added flavor.
Make sure the water is just warm to activate the yeast without killing it.
Allow the dough to rise in a warm area for the best results.
