Description

BBQ Ribs | Sticky Oven-Roasted Ribs for Father’s Day are beautifully tender and full of flavor. With a simple dry rub and your favorite BBQ sauce, these ribs are perfect for any occasion, especially family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a bowl, mix the dry rub ingredients together.
  3. Prepare the ribs by rinsing them, drying with paper towels, and removing the membrane if needed.
  4. Place the ribs on heavy-duty foil, rub one-third of the seasoning on the bony side, flip them, and rub remaining seasoning on the meaty side. Enclose in foil.
  5. Bake the ribs for about 2 hours until tender.
  6. Switch the oven to broil. Transfer ribs to the baking sheet, baste with BBQ sauce, flip and baste the other side.
  7. Broil for 4-6 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
  8. Allow the ribs to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the ribs marinate with the spice rub overnight.
Feel free to adjust the cayenne pepper according to your heat preference.
Use a sharp serrated knife for clean cuts.
