Description

These BBQ Chicken Thighs promise irresistible flavor with every bite. With a simple marinade and homemade BBQ sauce, this dish makes a delightful and quick dinner for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2.5 lbs chicken thighs boneless skinless
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 cup homemade southern bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine the chicken thighs with brown sugar, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and avocado oil in a large bowl. Mix well and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Take the marinated chicken out of the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat while the chicken warms up.
  4. Place the chicken thighs on the grill and lower the heat to medium. Grill for a few minutes on each side until char marks develop.
  5. Once almost fully cooked, baste both sides of each chicken piece with BBQ sauce. Move the chicken to indirect heat to allow the sauce to absorb and finish cooking.
  6. Remove the chicken when it reaches an internal temperature of 175-190°F for dark meat (or 165°F for white meat) and serve with additional BBQ sauce.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight for maximum flavor.
Adjust the seasoning based on personal preference for spiciness and sweetness.
Serve with sides like coleslaw or cornbread for a complete meal.
