Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (10 oz) pillsbury refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 granny smith apples
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 12 oz mountain dew
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into 8 slices each.
- Place a slice of apple on each crescent roll triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the tip, sealing the end to keep the apple securely inside. Arrange the filled rolls in the prepared pan.
- Repeat the filling process until all crescent roll triangles are filled and placed in the pan.
- In a saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and cinnamon and heat on low until well blended.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings in the pan.
- Pour Mountain Dew over the entire pan of dumplings for added flavor and moisture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm for the best experience!
Notes
These dumplings are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven for optimal flavor and texture.
Feel free to top with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
You can substitute with any sweet apples if granny smith isn’t available.
