Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup diced apples
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup 2% blended cottage cheese
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon almond milk, plain, unsweetened
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375℉.
- In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss to coat the apples.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the apple mixture, stirring to combine.
- Incorporate the blended cottage cheese, stirring with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Once the dough begins to form a ball, knead it with your hands in the bowl.
- Lightly flour a surface and turn the dough out, dividing it into 4 pieces.
- Shape 2 apple fritters on parchment paper into traditional round shapes.
- Air fry at 375℉ for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes, repeating until all dough is cooked.
- While fritters cook, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and almond milk in a bowl until smooth.
- Once fritters are done, dip each one into the glaze and place them on a wire cooling rack.
- Allow a few minutes for the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the batter.
Ensure the fritters are spaced out in the air fryer to cook evenly.
These fritters are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
