- 12 ounces tortilla chips sturdy chips to hold the toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for melting
- 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese for melting
- ½ cup jalapeños sliced, for added heat
- ½ cup sour cream for topping
- ½ cup guacamole for topping
- ½ cup fresh salsa for topping
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat and mix in the taco seasoning.
- Arrange tortilla chips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Spoon the cooked ground beef over the chips.
- Top with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Take out of the oven and garnish with jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
- Serve hot, adding cilantro or more toppings as desired.
