- ½ cup butter (unsalted)

- 4 cloves garlic (minced)

- 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
- ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
- Incorporate the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour in the white wine and allow it to simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the reserved ½ cup of pasta water, stir, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove the skillet from heat.
- Blend in the grated parmesan cheese until incorporated into the sauce.
- Toss the cooked pasta well with the sauce.
- Garnish with more parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
For a lighter version, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with milk.
