Description

This Chewy Gooey Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie is a delightful dessert that’s easy to prepare, featuring a rich blend of ingredients for an irresistible flavor. Perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 10 ounces chocolate chips, milk or semi-sweet
  • flaked salt, for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Heat a 12-inch oven-safe skillet over low heat for about 5 minutes. Add the unsalted butter to the skillet and melt it completely. Stir in both types of sugar using a wooden spoon. Make sure to turn off the heat under the skillet afterward.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and egg yolks, then quickly mix them into the butter and sugar mixture in the skillet. Stir in the vanilla extract immediately.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until they are just mixed. The batter will be thick; you may need to wipe down the edges of the skillet with a damp paper towel to remove excess flour.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips. Bake the cookie in the skillet for 20 to 25 minutes, or until mostly set in the center. Sprinkle flaked sea salt on top before serving warm.
  • Serve the cookie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a richer taste, use a combination of milk and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Ensure to let the cookie cool slightly before slicing for cleaner servings.
